when I started on red it was a total shit show. if you won a pvp encounter, they'd bind rush, train, port in uber twinks and oor healers to assist, turn the tides and camp you. if you went down, it was in your best interest to just log off for a while or play an alt. people couldn't even be decent human beings when you'd ask permission to loot and scoot. this was not a rare occurrence, this was most of them. there was absolutely zero respect for peoples time, it was largely a big grief bonerfest and whoever had the most patience and firepower to call in. total waste of time, most of it wasn't real pvp. I played on TZ on live, and I played on most of the other prior pvp emulated servers and enjoyed them.. but really couldn't get in to this one. I am but one person, but several of my friends felt the same, and I have to imagine a ton more stopped playing there due to that shit. the PnP is a good idea in theory, and it would work if people embraced it and flipped the switch to stop being assholes to one another, but you can't force that mentality on people that have already adapted to a die hard cut throat way of playing. I hopped back on after they introduced the PnP and it was just a bunch of people arguing non stop about semantics and work arounds and complaining. I have a 30 rogue in old world gear that I am looking forward to playing again at some point, but I'm kinda waiting to see how the server turns out and what the big plans are for it before I invest any time there again. | |||

Farming WToV and EToV trash for armor drops is a fate I wouldn't wish on my worst enemies.
Lord have mercy on those of you actually looking forward to it.

Basically the only good design about ToV, was that it allowed for 3 guilds to simultaneously raid it without leapfrogging each other. West/East for farming and North for high-end dragons.
I do hope that on this server it allows for that both in zone stability and people not trying to split their raid between East and West to consume all the content as a single guild.

Faction is still required for all parties involved.

Playing on dead box is a better alternative to nothing.

I wonder how many potential players get turned away reading the insane negativity on these forums every day.
OH WOE IS ME! WHY EVEN RELEASE VELIOUS IF THERE WILL BE LOTS OF PEOPLE WANTING WHAT I WANT THE SECOND I WANT IT?! No guild is going to park at one activity 24/7 for months. There is a crazy amount of raid-level content between world dragons, kael, TOV, Dain, Velk, POG, Ring and Shawl questing, and all of the rare items people will be spread out farming. If the one set of armor you pre-determined you HAVE TO HAVE is too in-demand when velious starts, why not take your guild to PoG, clear it out to start gearing up in substantially similar gear and get some sweet tunare loots as a bonus? Why not switch your allegiance to a different faction? Why not take the time to go kill stuff that was too crowded in Kunark for a few weeks? Why not work on that faction in the first place and gear up other members and areas outside of the end-game armor drops? Why not stop being insufferably negative and driving people away?
