This trailer hurts to watch. The best comment I read on youtube was that using "Sabotage" as the song was purposeful to state emphatically that the director has sabotaged Star Trek for this generic, action, sci-fi BS.

Nerds are the reason Star Trek has a name. Otherwise it'd be like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d96cjJhvlMA

Compare that to this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nkegWQe1ZM

Or my favorite:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VW7neKZFKE0

Every trailer for a big movie has to be full of action because that's what most people want.

You'll never see a Star Trek MOVIE do this for almost 45 minutes (a full episode):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfdRVtIyFQc

Here's some more action from that episode:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHHg36yXL7Y

That's because TV audiences are NOT the same thing as movie audiences. The only reason those original Star Trek movies were anything like Star Trek was because of their big following.Things have changed since then.

Voyager was better than ds9 imo.

ds9 was good when they were in spaceships, which is more of a 'trek'.

I watched all of ds9 in order, and it was like a soap opera 'as the station turns'.

And I really hate Kai Winn.
