Somewhat related, I met Vinnie Paul (Pantera drummer) this weekend in the Fort Worth Stockyards at a all you can eat crawfish boil at a place called the Longhorn Saloon....He was decked out head to toe in Denver Broncos gear...He didn't really seem like he wanted to be bothered so I only talked to him for a minute.

Plenty of nazi metal bands out there that aren't widely popular, but Phil has always been terrible. Just because he was in Pantera, always sucked, he gets some face time. Metal is more about fun and having a fun time more than anything. Grindcore tends to lean more in the political spectrum. Wasn't a huge outcry here when Varg Vikernes and some others burned down the oldest church in Norway.

God damn, I really don't get that shit. I'm open to all types of different music including good metal, not that I've been able to find much of that (prove me a pleb please in reply, I will thank you for it, I don't claim to have big music taste nuts at all), but those vocals are somewhere between Merzbow levels of unlistenably grating faggy pretentiousness and My Chemical Romance levels of faggy image building/signalling. Shitty tongue in cheek hair bands were much less cringeworthy.

This trash gets to a point where it's so monochromatic with "fast paced angry" that it totally fails to convey any emotion whatsoever.

I get the distinct impression I'm listening to music made by a straight-edge autist or at least someone who never experimented beyond alcohol and mom's leftover pain pills when I hear the links above. Or maybe I'm way off and my problem is not enough brain damage from inhalants to make listening to the static from my television set a riveting emotional experience.

I think the problem w/ above post was I was sorta almost ranting against an entire genre like a 14 year old (caint spell crap without rap), when my real problem is just with shitty music. Plus I'm disadvantaged by the fact that every metalhead I know irl is kind of a nerd with real bad taste in music including metal, whereas the j-pop fans I know in real life know how to find the real dope shit.
