Yes new players would automatically be allied to half the server ideally, but probably at least allied to some decent % of the population, making it more attractive to grp/form relationships and play with other players since they are your team mates and not just some dude who can help/fuck you over.

Really the only players we need to consider are potential new players, and creating a decent non raid scene PVP environment - which TZ was.

Also hardcode teams.

If this was your interest you would follow alongside of Andain. Start threads that encourage the spread of information to assist new people joining the server, be an active participant in new players that come to the server with assistance INSTEAD of telling them to reroll clerics warriors, rogues: promising them pixel packages and City of Mist powerlevels when they join guild < zerg >

i don't think a lack of "allies" is what caused this server, or every single other pvp server, to die

depending on who you ask, this server has been considered "dead" at different points in time since it was released.

i.e. people are arbitrarily deciding when the server's dead when the reality is just that people's interest in it ebbs and flows

It's definitely not the deadest I've seen (single digits) but it is pretty low right now, I think 130 on atm.
