Imagine reality is real, and that electrons in the sim are senseless 0's and 1's and we are human beings and dirt is dirt. Imagine human beings matter, and we care about them. Imagine if everyone agreed to care, and agreed to take care of eachother, instead of rip eachother off. Imagine we all stopped ripping eachother off, fucking eachother over, and selling eachother down the river. Imagine the only random person who did this was completely ostracized and removed from the community instead of elevated to leadership. Imagine people cared about eachother.
This is the world we made. We had a perfectly balanced ruleset in real life and we pilot it pretty much into the ground because we are all special exceptions for fucking over our neighbor and leaving eachother to die in the street because if someone is fucked over that is obviously what they deserve so how can you help someone who is getting what they deserve?

Our society currently is structured to provide maximum benefit for people that seek maximum benefit for themselves, so convicted sociopaths are basically chosen winners of the game we set up. It doesn't matter who you bamboozle or cheat to get to your position, once you have acquired power and authority (money) you are a winner. I watched David Letterman interview Kim Kardashian on his show "My next guest needs no introduction" I wanted to watch a different interview but hers came up and I watched it. I was sitting there totally blown away thinking "Am I wrong, is Kim Kardashian perfect and amazing and I am an idiot?" because it felt very convincing that the fact that she is rich and famous is indicative of her greatness and value. Then I realized that was the stupidest shit that I ever thought and went to bed regretting the time I spent seeing that.
We have a choice in this matter but most of us are not willing to admit that the entire structure we have been integrated with is pretty much faulty at the core. Thats why Jesus didn't bother telling us how to set up a nation-state, but just to love God and Love our neighbor. If we individually chose to love our neighbor they gain the slight power to love their neighbor slightly more, and it helps a little bit. It also helps us a very lot, which is important to. The most self serving thing you can do is be selfless. And it doesn't negate the selflessness because reality doesn't work that way, only stupid game rules.

Furthermore, there's a philosophical flaw in your above post. If "reality is real" (materiality) than force or the threat thereof is the only valid means of governance in the above example. That is to say, you are positing "love" be the governing force, but "love" is just an idea. So you're positing "idealism" SHOULD be the governing force of materiality, which is inconsistent with materiality to begin with.
Granted, I actually agree with you on the conclusion, but I disagree with the premise (materiality) | ||
