I remember in mistmoore that the pond hill was camped, the nook over on the other side of the tower had a camp, and the canyon had a camp.

Like, every day and night those 3 spots had a group at them... but I can't imagine that we just that bad and slow back then? That those camps of like 5 or 6 mobs was enough for each group?

As someone who camped in MM back in the day, my best weapon was a combine sword on my bard. I remember getting dual EBW's and thought I was a badass.

You think that's bad, I remember full groups camping a single SK Gnoll spire and just trying to grab wandering mobs here and there whenever they happened to walk into view.

I also remember groups thinking that the lowest level member of a group took the largest share of the exp (as we now know, it's the exact opposite). So they'd refuse to invite people sometimes if they were toward the end of the EXP-receiving level range.

It wasn't "enough" for most groups, but these areas were simply overcrowded because of server populations and people not knowing enough about the game. Players were also more interested in chatting and roleplaying during the downtime, so some didn't mind.

I usually always tried to find something more to pull or outright move the group though. Like when a group would ask me to come join the 2-treant camp in South Karana, I'd be like "let's take a few minute run to the East Karana druid ring, there's way more there". Also, those druids used to not have faction hits.

I remember HK Goblins being 3-4 camps. Usually it was split between the floors, but occasionally someone would split the top camp into two camps with the backside area being its own camp.

I legit remember being in a full group and being on the camp2 and we have 4 spawns...4! and nobody complained. we we're all so grateful to be in the group lol.

Not sure where Zuranthium got his quote from, but our wiki has a fairly complete (if not fully formatted) collection of patch notes.

As you can see here, that patch was an official one, although it wasn't in Allakhazam's collection (I, or whoever did that particular patch note, got it from a Japanese site that also collected patch notes: http://www.tski.co.jp/baldio/patch/20000720.html).
