Anyone live near central IL and have a comfy headset I could borrow? :P
jkjk. I do need a new set though, mine is very cheap and feels like a vice that's holding your head hostage. If you have any suggestions of something over-the-ear style that I could probably find in a local store tomorrow (Best Buy, etc.) please shoot me a PM! Trying not to pollute my own thread with non-fundraiser stuff. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

<The Mystical Order> would like to participate in the donation of items for this event to help raise awareness and funds for Leukemia through the Extra-Life Fund. Leukemia has affected both myself, the members of TMO and members of our P99 family and we believe we can help do our part for those and the families suffering.
We will be donating the following items in hopes of raising donations: Grand Prize: Cobalt Breastplate Secondary Prizes: Tolan's Darkwood Breastplate Elder Spiritist Breastplate Blood Ember Breastplate White Dragon Shield Pod of Seawater (Druid Epic MQ) Thank you very much for hosting such a benevolent event for an incredible cause, Novora. | ||

The BDA guild coffers don't have anything that would even compare to that pile of loot so here's what I'm going to personally do. I'm putting myself on the line.
If this fundraiser hits the $10,000 threshold for Welgrim I'll agree to go on Sirken's stupid stream that I've actively dodged so he can ask me stupid questions. Cucumbers can vouch that this is something that I absolutely have not wanted to do.

Will people who donate for a ticket be able to choose wish item(s) they want their ticket to apply to, or will this not be an option? I am asking to help clarify for people who may not want to "draw" on all items, since you are only able to win one item total. You will want to clarify this as well as detail how the actual raffle will be done prior to the event taken place, preferably at least 24 hours in advance so people can decide whether they'd like to participate and schedule time to be availalble.

We spent a fair amount of time discussing this raffle, and I spent a lot of time spelling out clear guidelines that would need to be followed in order to ensure this could be supported and approved by the staff. I will also be putting in a considerable amount of time after the event going over the donations themselves in order to verify this was all done legitimately and adhered to the rules and regulations set prior to the event. The image displayed in the original post is just one section of a much larger document and contract that, if not followed, will end with Norova taking the full punishment reserved for career platinum sellers. There is no doubt in my mind that this will be done properly, and I'm thrilled we were able to make this happen - it would have been extremely difficult to say no to such a selfless and heart-felt request. I sincerely hope that, despite the effort required from myself in order for this to happen, more people follow his example and attempt similar events. It puts a huge smile on my face knowing someone is using Project 1999 to help fund an important cause they are passionate about supporting. Quote:

My qualms with allowing tickets for specific items are 1) maintenance overhead, and 2) prize distribution. 1.) I'd need to monitor every donation during the event via my Extra Life page (people can hide their comment and/or donation from the public page) to be sure they chose an item properly. Anyone who did not properly submit their donation comment would need to notified immediately to give them a chance to correct before the raffle time window closes. 2.) After the raffle ends, compiling all of the entrants and actually conducting the raffle would take a sizable amount of time. Probably at least one day. I don't mind putting in the work, but after my 24th hour I'm going to practically be a zombie and would need to get some decent rest before I could even start on the final task. I've written a whole back-end database webapp to automatically catalog all of my donations and such, but even with that it'd still take a bit to sort out winners. Due to this, I'd need to give people a reasonable amount of time to claim their item from me. I can't ever guarantee what my playtime availability will be for P99 so I'm afraid some people would end up waiting longer than they'd prefer. One solution to that is to require entrants to be present during the actual raffle drawing and I'd rather not do that. It severely limits the number of people able to contribute. Maybe there's a happy medium? Allow choice of a select few items, all other entries can go into a randomly awarded pool? I dunno. I just want to maximize the donation potential of the whole thing. perhaps you draw X number of names for the X number of items, first drawn name picks an item.. 2nd draw picks next item.. etc..
