I did at the end of last month, and did clean installs. You have six days left to decide if you are going to take the crappy free winX upgrade/downgrade. Nah, it's not bad, but Ubuntu or something might be a better choice at this point, or even on a dual boot. Of course someone on a win7 32bit, most anything is definitely an improvement with a newer OS.
I actually used to be able to dual boot Ubuntu, but i just didn't see any reason for it. I haven't used it or any other linux in probably 5+ years, but at that time Ubuntu was the best and I still thought it was inferior to even winXP in virtually every way possible.

I thiiink Ubuntu is considered 2nd or 3rd best now, but just minor differences. 5yrs, yeah that's a long time. Just depends what you do with it, much like Android is a Linux kernel and you do Android stuff with it, as well as some emulation now.

Security is my main concern, support, then ease of use. For some, that's reversed (ode to early versions of Widow Maker and Blackbox hehe - imo HLFS best). But Ubuntu has come a long way with ease of use as well as support by/for Linux in general. Security has always been there. Like I can launch the Steam app from Ubuntu and play my favorite games all natively. Not all games, but oddly all my fav Steam games have Linux support now. You can see what games are supported from the steam store page, will have a Steam Play icon next to the Windows or Mac icon. Then Ubuntu has their own Google Play style system now, called Ubuntu Software Center. Outside of native app support, the windows emulator has made a lot of progress, most stuff runs.

Microsoft's Windows 10 upgrades are getting even more sneaky-pushy
Fearing forced Windows 10 upgrades, users are disabling critical updates instead

Ubuntu tour hehe:
Just mimics the UI, it's not really running the OS in your browser ... yet.

Why I still use win7. With Vulkan getting more popular, I don't even see win10 (new directx) being necessary here soon.

For as long as they allow you to I guess. That end of life cycle may come much more quickly now than it did for XP. Yeah that's what I upgraded windows from, 7 to 10. Have had no problems with it after setting it up right/fine tuning, disabling or uninstalling certain things etc.

I have a desktop similar to barrets but its the single core 3.2ghz cpu lol. I use my laptop for most shit but play older games on the desktop. Anyways since I upgraded the desktop to windows 10 the pc keeps shutting off by itself at random. Ive changed power settings and sleep settings and everything but it still does it. I can turn the pc on and go pour some coffee and its in some kind of sleep mode when I return. Any suggestions?

I hope so. The only thing that would force an upgrade from me is the Directx incompatibility. I already hit some pseudo-incompatibility with Direct3D 11.2-3 in the latest Hitman game with a framerate of about 0.5. I guess some state of the art games are being designed with very little backwards compatibility with hardware and drivers from 2013. It was Vanguard launch all over again.

Vulkan doesn't support my AMD situation, I'd have to swap cards.

You turn hibernate off from the command prompt. There was a menu setting for it, but it didn't seem to stop it, did the same to me. I did this: http://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-en...in-windows-10/

can't get the BBcode link (or any links for that matter), it won't show me any of the code options and its only showing me the embedded code option along with the direct link.

Example, see these options under the desktop website tab?

https://help.imgur.com/hc/en-us/arti...Posts-to-Imgur

Those do not exist for me as of 10-14 days or so ago. Why is this? Do you need to sign up and make an account to get access to all of the code options now?

Its been frustrating me to troubleshoot, as the information isn't available anywhere.
imgur is dying even though it's one of the biggest imagehosts it needs a way to get revenue, there's zero revenue and only expenses allowing direct hotlinking... they want to make it as difficult as possible to find the direct link, they want to you to link to the imgur page which displays the image but also a lot of junk around it wrapping it with ads which potentially could generate revenue.

will it become photobucket 2.0?
