I always played 1st person, and I did when I first started here two months-something back. And when my RL friends wanted to me to log onto Ventrilo so we could voice chat, I told them to "f off that isn't 1999!".
Truth to be told, I now play 3rd person (being a bard) and I use Ventrilo [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]. Damn you evolution!

Stupid question, but also one of the failings of EQ. That is, the ability to zoom from first person to third and pan/rotate the camera without moving your hand from the mouse. This F9 stuff is garbage, but it's classic so sigh...

90% of the time, first person, for the immersion mainly, but also because it is easier to loot and melee in first person - for me, anyway.
When I do go to third person, it is almost always to get 360 degree view of what is around me. I do this to be aware of potential adds in open zones primarily. However, for some reason, I always go third person while traveling on a boat, until it is time to debark. There is one more case in which I use 3rd person. Occasionally, in a dungeon, if you use the camera right, you can see around a corner.

only 1st person. Can't stand to play any other way (maybe because I played fps games before everquest). I never found that I needed any other view to be aware of my surroundings. -and as an enchanter you need to be very aware.
only times I would use third person would be if I was using bind sight to explore deep, or trying to solo/pacify my way deep into a dungeon full of unmezzabes (ie getting to the mephit tunnel in tower of sol ro). | ||

back in the day i used the arrows keys first person lol i cant no more i use wasd and scroll in and out mostly im scrolling out of first person for fights lol and i use mouse to look back in the day i would uuse page up and down and 5 on num pad lol to center
