gonna love to see TMO spin their way out of this one, considering one of their most prominent and outspoken members on the forums and in game, who is also an officer that is in charge of selling their ill begotten raid loot was just banned for using MQ.

how the fuck are you going to deny this TMO??

inb4 "oh but he didnt know"

ignorance is not a valid excuse
How would he know that an account he purchased was flagged for MQ use before he even purchased it?

even if we did believe that story, which most of us probably dont. it still doesnt excuse it. ignorance of the law does not absolve you from guilt

This.

Although, to be honest, I had always thought that GM's banned MQ flagged accounts in an proactive manner, rather than a one off, manual "oh this account is flagged for MQ, must ban now" manner. At least up until the Bouncerr scandal.

Of course, while selling accounts for platinum has always been "frowned upon" but not illegal, I suppose one can argue that its buyer beware in situations like this.

As an aside, I guess that everyone whose ever purchased an account is in danger of that account being flagged for MQ at the time of purchase and being banned at a random time in the future, regardless of whether they actually used it or not. Something that can be fixed, if all MQ flagged accounts were banned on the spot (which I'm sure can be handled by a constant running script or something)

Even fi we were to believe your story, which is a bit of a stretch at this point, do you mind telling us "why" your flagged account alt was banned?

Clearly there are a lot of MQ flagged accounts from the past out there that were forgiven, and they are not being banned randomly every day. So that means that you must have done something to actively get this account banned. What was it? Did you load up MQ2 again?

Or are you claiming the GMs were just "mad" at you and since your account was marked as an MQ2 user they decided to ban you, even though this has never been documented as happening to any other MQ2 flagged account in the history of this server, and there are still 100s of MQ2 flagged users running around who haven't been "unlucky"?

Fess up, what did you do?

Ignorance of the law does not absolve you from mandatory participation in the adjudicatory process. The account was banned, and he plead his case before a legitimate decision making authority.

Why is that difficult to accept? It's entirely possible he used MQ himself, however it would have been incredibly reckless. Say what you will about TMO's leadership, but it is anything but sloppy when it comes to issues such as this.

I'm sure he uses it on live servers and left it running accidently when responding to one of those 4am batphones. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

At least Perun had the balls to man up and take blame when he was accused of using SEQ.

Will Eccezan do the same?

Hey, but Perun only used it just that one time, right?

I'm sure most of IB's loot wasn't tainted by the indiscretions of their cheating leaders,

Could you clarify, please: do you mean the loot that was actually distributed or do you mean the loot that the guildleader banked for his own profit?
