The best part is: TMO claimed they had fewer cheaters than guilds that were better than them (IB/TR et al) and when those people disappear, TMO is all of a sudden buying up their accounts, tagging members know to cheat, and all other forms of douchebaggery imagineable.

Do you mean to say that purchasing an account transfers the previous owner's culpability to the new owner?

It should.

When you buy a car at an auction thats confirmed to have been siezed by police following a criminal investigation, upon receiving the title you are responsible for any and all things regarding the vehicle you just purchased.

Account trading was not even allowed on live but it is here, folks should just accept the risk of buying an account rather than leveling their own.

You make it sound like if the previous owner used it in a drive-by, you just murdered 7 people. But yes, if you failed to notice the crate of AK's or the kilo in the trunk, that shit is your problem (or success).

Ok, so when you buy a car and the transaction is completed, the ownership of said car is transferred to you from whoever owns it at the time. From that point on you are liable for that car and anything inside of it as well as damages caused by the vehicle.

If the car you bought was used to transport firearms or illegal drugs prior to your purchase of the car and you fail to inspect the car prior to purchasing then you are shit out of luck if you are stopped by police and they just happen to find a gun or drugs left over from the previous owner...granted they had the right or consent to search said vehicle to begin with.

I understand such a thing is a rare occurence but it does happen, I just figured it seemed an appropriate comparison to account trading on p99 with all of the cheater accounts being sold off.

This is generally incorrect (barring a strict liability regime, and even then possession implies control which you can argue did not exist without knowledge of the contraband's exitence.) In the above example, the purchaser would be exonerated. Possession typically requires intent. Unless the purchaser knew or should have known that contraband was within his possession he would not be guilty of any crime.

Yes, he might be arrested, but the general process will leave him with zero culpability. Kind of like how the purchased account was banned and subsequently unbanned and Eccezan was declared innocent.

As I asked before, should purchasing an account impute the guilt for the seller's crimes to the purchaser? Whether or not purchasing an account should be legal is not the same issue as to whether or not purchasing an account transfers liability from the transgressor to the purchasing party.

In your example you assume that the purchaser would be guilty of smuggling illegal firearms, when such is not the case in real life, nor is it the case here vis a vis purchasing accounts.
