Why not? Is it because I won't #summon you Vulak gear in exchange for $10? I mean I guess that's why you won't play, it's not as fun when everyone is equally geared and you can't drop your entire paycheck on pixels for a decisive advantage.

Yeah, opening a server and trying to promote it while admitting on the same forums that you keep track of everyone's log in name if they log onto your server is not a good idea.

That's how databases work dawg, Rogean has all of your information from any server you've logged into on the EQEMU list, if you've played on Devnoob or Salty's box they also have all of your information.

The database has to log your IP and account name so it knows who is who when you load up toons.

I'm willing to bet that any job you've applied for through the icims system has your DOB, driver's license number, SSN, address and phone number back logged into it's database even if they are several years old, meaning that computer gig you applied to at Best Buy when you were 18? You know that one from 2004? It has all of your contact information.

It scares me when you make me aware of things though. Next thing you're gonna tell me is my credit card number is in the computer.

Think of it this way, every company with 101+ people probably has a DBA who manages their oracle EBS systems which includes their icims hiring accounts; if that dude decided to say "fuck it I quit" he could probably export the job profiles and account information of thousands of people; that includes all sorts of information (SSN for applicants, CC info for customers) and he could hock that data on black hat websites for $5-10 per user.

A large database with 500,000 unique names and ID's would fetch upwards of millions on the black market if all that data was there and intact, as the identity theft racket would rake in $$$ with that information...

Granted the dude that lifted this info would probably have to go into hiding for a bit, but with a couple million, I'm sure he can relax fine in some island in the pacific no problem.
