Quillmane.
Back in the day on Sullon Zek (the no rules PVP server), I was a good team Ranger around level 30. Good team had an insufferably hard time leveling up/gearing up, due to being only ~15% of the population of the server, and being confined to very few "safe" zones. Me and a druid friend went to go hunt some bad guys/exp, and stumbled upon a group in South Karana that was just about to kill this flying white pegasus thing I had never seen or heard of before. Truth be told, I think it was maybe my second time in South Karana ever. We jumped the group and killed them (tbh Quillmane did most of the work, the group was struggling), then finished off Quillmane. This weird cloak thing dropped, so we rolled, and I happened to win. I had no idea what I had just won, but soon figured it out after I started getting all kinds of rage /tells from the group we had killed. This was still pretty early on in the days of Sullon Zek, pre-Luclin, and word actually spread quickly that I had gotten a (server first?) Pegasus Feather Cloak. A day or 2 after I got the cloak, I got a /tell from a mage named Lodran in the Evil guild <Ruin>, who at the time were the baddest of the bad (Every Ruin player was like a raid boss to 99% of the Good Team, at the time). He gave me something like 10k, an Argent Protector, AND power-leveled me to 46 so that he could get the server-first Mage Epic, which I believe he did. Seeing the value of Quillmane and his cloak, I made it a regular habit to try and camp him, and ended up getting like 2 or 3 more in my time on the server. I even took justice into my own hands one time, when some neuts were exploiting some zone-crashing glitch to get him to spawn (I think it was: you could duel, then when almost dead, you'd zone and pull the plug at the same time, and the zone would often crash). I "stood guard" and logged back in ASAP, tracked down Quillmane (their tricked worked), killed him (no cloak), he RE-SPAWNED, tracked him down and killed him (destroyed my cloak, looted the new one), they crashed it again, no spawn, etc. A couple days later there were some patch notes about fixing an exploit about crashing zones to get mobs to spawn. I really felt like I was doing my little part to help the "good guys" win in those days [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]. I was doing something that GM's couldn't/wouldn't do, because they despised Sullon Zek and it's drama-fest, and either dismissed most petitions, or took AGES to get to them. Think P99Red drama, but with 2000+ active players (at the time). I took it upon myself to be South Karana's policeman, a "Walker Texas" Ranger, if you will [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]. Honestly, really great memories, all revolving around Quillmane and that first chance encounter PKing bad gusy when I was in <Flowers of Happiness>. GO GO GOOD GUSY!!

Brunar Rankin. Unfortunately can't find a good pic of him.
He robs that stupid human that's always fishing in at the FP docks, flees the scene of the crime, then loiters like 20 feet away. Doesn't get much more ballsy than ol' Brunar. | ||
