im wondering rogean, I logged in expecting a repop cause i guess i don't know how things work. anyways, i came back to no tranix, that i had just killed before downtime, but the skarlon was up(i didnt have time to kill this) but before the server shut down, he was holding a sword, and when the server came back up. he wasn't.

tranix actually got killed immediately upon server up. I logged in a toon there to watch IB taking him out

yes was talking about red, if it was a full repop, people would be working on the boss mobs, but they arnt. so im a bit confused.

what probably happens is server just checks to see if mob was up or not when servers came down then repops them if they were. probably doesnt take loot tables into account. So when servers went down Skarlon was up and had sword. when came back he was still up but with no sword. I'd put money on the whole timers not being reset notion being wrong. To many mobs have spawned at wrong times after server goes down for that to be accurate(example is Dojo, his ass is random as shit anymore)

so say i killed tranix at 245am, while the server was down, was it still tickin? or does it continue ticking once server is back up. I kinda understand Rogean was trying to explain this in a pervious post but for some reason i cant really make sense of what he is saying.

He was saying that the timer should still continue to count down but it doesnt always seem to work that way.

the timer continues to tick when the server is down, so if tranix should have repopped while the server was down, he will be up. (in theory)

There is no timer. The times are stored as an exact time (e.g. "Sunday Aug 11 12:34pm EST"), not a countdown (e.g. "3 days 21 hours 13 minutes 7 seconds til next spawn"). The timestamp of the next spawn is determined at the death of the previous.
