I don't support DEI lol. I'm glad it is being dismantled. It was an abject failure that saw the equivalent of political komissars conducting ideological purity tests in American institutions.

That doesn't make it a reasonable scapegoat for a disaster that likely stemmed from some other systemic dysfunction, or combinations of dysfunctions. You know it's a bad sign when the country's leadership, instead of earnestly looking at what may be wrong, is screaming "DEI', which is tantamount to this:

If it's DEI, they couldn't possibly be culpable, and they know there is a little vision in the mind of every Trump supporter of some hoodlum who was scooped off the street and stuck in a helicopter seat. By appealing to that, they are appealing to nothing other than ideological unity and purity in the face of complicated problems. In short, very similar mechanisms to DEI. Loyalty over competence. Messaging over merit.

ATC had staffing problems for sure, whatever the cause seems irrelevent tho unless we're poking fun at liberal agendas, in which case it's a comedy gold mine

it's definitely the fault of the black hawk pilot, zero fault on the airplane, and probably little to no fault on behalf of ATC

ATC comms clearly have the helo pilot saying I got this, im in control, i understand the situation etc
