Default Help with no movement/combat animation

After the last patch I had the square in the middle of the spell icon so I wanted to get that fixed and came here and got that taken care of........however, now I get no movement of arms or legs. all people and npc's are just sticks floating around and in a fight you cannot see any movement but you can hear the sounds and see the words.

I tried wineq and it seems fine but then the center of the screen flickers all gray with no picture (all spell bars, chat box, and menus stay full color).

I hope someone has an answer to at least the no moving animation problem.

Thanks in advance.

I am having the same problem. It seems to be totally random - zoning fixes the issue for about 2 minutes, then it resumes.

The only way to change your character's animation is sitting, and when you stand back up, you freeze again.

Default Help with this?

Hey, my wife is having the same problem on her computer. Everything is just stiff movement with no animation. It was weird...she was in Halas and some guy sat down in front of her and then he started moving around, but animation hadn't come for standing so he was moving around while sitting. Loading or zoning does not help her even temporarily as previously reported in this thread. I had her turn her frame rate down and that helped with the jerky movement (just looked like everything was going way too fast and she couldn't make small adjustments). But she still sees no combat or movement animation. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Are you sure you didn't patch with Live? IE run eqgame.exe with patchme as a parameter?

Default Pretty sure

Pretty sure. She did things exactly the way i did on my computer. She got up and running before I did, which was OK as we were waiting on an IP exemption anyway, but when I finally got in, all the animation was just fine on mine. I've double checked to make sure her shortcut is set right and it is. The only thing I can't 100% confirm is if she did both of the replacement steps as I wasn't standing over her when she did them, but I think she did both of the crucial ones. I did remove a few more files than her because I wanted old school Kunark load screen and original combat, etc music. (She was a Luclin baby so she didn't care as much about that) But I can't imagine that would account for a difference in animation.

Dunno. Got the latest video drivers? Other than possibly a very wierd multi-core issue this isn't a "usual" issue. Have a look at:

This glitch used to happen back on the live servers, too. Years and years ago. Unfortunately, I don't remember what the fix was. I just remember the game being automatically patched one day by Verant and after that, the problem disappeared.

Default Fixed?

Well, seem to have fixed it. Hopefully it'll last. Logged off my account long enough to fool around with hers a bit and I tried several things including making sure her desktop res matched game res, turned off all the new models, repatched the second file replacement as per the instructions and when I logged in with her, it seemed to fix it. I crashed out after camping her. Rebooted, started again and it still seemed to be OK, so crossing my fingers that did it. I remember having fits with EQ when I first got a widescreen monitor because the widescreen resolutions didn't work really smoothly.

Thanks for suggestions and hopefully when she gets home we'll see it continue to work.
