Can't actually get into the game

Alright, so I got the EQ P99 Download (verified, not a bay hack or other such program).

I tried to follow the instructions, but no avail. I have done a fresh extraction to my C: drive, and at this point have touched NOTHING, as I'm looking to guidance as to what is the correct way to run the game now that I have extracted the files to my C: drive.

I even tried the Duxas all in one installer method, and it errored after I tried to get into the Ruins server (1000 people on right now btw...I'm impressed).

Some window or .dll error, which made me terminate while the music was playing in the background. Help! I'd love to get in [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

.. which ver of EQ did you install, what CD pack. also what is the full .DLL error message say.

Sadly I don't know. The link was to a dropbox where snagged a folder called EQ - it was then extracted and the folder was called EverQuestP992. I've got 3.3 Gigs worth of EQ stuff, and now I'm stuck...haha.
