Default whats wrong with my computer!

ok so just a few nights ago, came home smelling like reefer and figured id watch a movie, so i watched grind till the end and was about to fall asleep, so instead of turning the computer off the right way, i just pressed on the button (that turns it on) till it was off

i turn it on now, and it shows the first screen when loading, but after that screen it all goes black, and doesnt show the login screen to get on my computer

figuring that this week im just gonna redo it and see if that fixes it

If you see the Windows logo before the computer crashes it's most likely a software issue.
If the computer crashes before you see the Windows logo it's more likely a hardware issue.

Not 100% accurate but it's a good place to start narrowing down the possibilities when attempting to troubleshoot.

4 second drop = bad and should only be used when you have no other way to get the computer to shut down. Try booting safemode?

Boot to your windows CD, let it load all the of the drivers and files needed. When the prompt comes up, choose "R" for repair, then let the recovery console load. You will need to choose the windows install to be repaired. Enter the administrator password when prompted then when you get to the command prompt, type in fixboot /mbr then after that finishes type in exit and restart the system to see if that fixes the issue. Likely, doing a hard power down might have corrupted your boot files and master boot record on the HDD.
