Default Specialization for Enchanters

I want to understand the logic before I make a choice. I remember specializing in Conjuration from 20 onward since mez is the bread and butter spell. Alteration I know is a popular choice since most spells are alteration based.

This time through I am thinking alteration this pass since I spend a fair amount of time soloing and do not have a steady group.

Alteration, and it's not even close. Charms, lulls, roots, whirls, dots, hastes and slows. Not only is it the most common school we cast, they're the big mana spells, mezzes are cheap in comparison.

Conjuration only makes sense for one situation, keeping multiple mobs locked down for long periods. I'm not saying this never happens, but it is rare, and chances are you'd be lower mana at the start than an alt spec enchanter because they just spent less on the last round of haste and clarity.

Agree on that, all your buffs are alteration too. There's no other choice, really, imo [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
