Default Box to fast to run eq?

I upgraded to a new box a while back and I am now unable to play EQ, I have tried many fixes but every time upon server selection I get a 1017 error. Looking for more work-arounds and fixes so I can continue to play P99!confused My specs are as follows

AMD FX 8350 eight core 4.00ghz
32gb ram
GTX 770
running 64bit windows 7

Machine definitely isn't too fast to run 99. Make sure you're up to date on win 7 updates if you clean installed windows. The first batch is usually about 185, then an additional 60-100 updates in smaller batches. Obv make sure all your drivers are up to date. Finally since p99 is portable just grab your install directory from the old machine and attempt to launch it on the new one.

Not true. There are numerous threads in this forum detailing what you should underclock your CPU to if you want to pass P99's cheat detection, among other solutions - search the keyword "underclock" for starters.

Interesting, i would not have expected an amd fx to be too much hardware, i think amd ended production of these chips at this point. I'm still not convinced his issue is hardware related.
