Let me explain, all living things are made up of proteins. Which begin as strings of chemical compounds but then they fold into a 3d structure.

That 3d structure determines their function. Which means if you can predict how a protein is going to fold, say in to a cancer or Alzheimer's you can intercept it and treat it.

Scientist have been trying to crack that protein fold problem for decades.
Well artificial intelligence solved it.

The AI is called AlphaFold by Google's Deepmind Lab. The AI has gone on to predict the shape of nearly every protein known to science. Including all proteins expressed in the human genome!
