Default bards unable to cancel song casting

This has just started to be an issue since the last patch on Sunday night. It seems to be across the board for every song.

1) click a spell gem and begin casting.
2) try to cancel the casting by clicking a new spell gem.
3) casting bar disappears, but casting has not stopped. unable to cast another song until the last has finished even though it was meant to be cancelled.

most everything else is running smooth that I have tested since the patch last night.

Nice catch, if a video is needed to show this let me know- I tested this myself, in like 3 seconds it replicated itself.

Bah, i thought i had that straight. I was getting the things straight with twisting, so I didn't think of checking interrupts mid cast.

Ok, not an easy fix. This may take a bit of testing to get the dynamics working. Bah. At least I am able to figure stuff out through trial and error.

My bad.

imo once you get everything sorted out, haynar, you might as well just roll one, you will know every single little thing about them [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I was so happy that instrument modifiers were sticking I almost didn't notice this. It starts to really affect when a battle changes on the fly and you're forced to change your songs quickly.

I don't even play on the server. Or any server for that matter. I just fix stuff in the code here, as my contribution to help the server, and what the server represents.

Haynar: Some day, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me. But until that day, consider this fix a gift on my patch day.

I put together a temporary fix, for interrupting songs from the gems while they are being cast, allowing a recast right away. But this brings back the disappearing casting bar, when used to interrupt while being cast, and reclicking real fast.

Interrupts from spell gems, after the song is playing, is handled seperately, so that case does not have issues with casting bars disappearing. So twisting works good.

There may not be a way to fix this totally, due to a client side limitation. I will try a few things, but I tried like 5 different ways tonight already. And I am stuck with the casting bar going away, if you click really fast. But it allows you to sing a new song right away, and not wait til it finishes.

Coding as a hobby relaxes me. I just can't code for a living, because doing that is stressful. Figure that one out.
