Default Character model larger than usual

So i've been discussing this issue with some of my friends and they've noticed a similar issue, but it seem's our character models appear larger than normal only to ourselves. On my halfling druid I am eye level with dwarves, but I can remedy this by using treeform then disabling the buff.

I'm just curious if theirs anyway to fix this? Its only a mild annoyance but I do like being tiny ;P Please let me know if theirs anything I can do. Thank you!

Is there anything you have noticed that causes this to happen? Is it upon zoning, or seemingly spontaneously, sometime after you have zoned? Are you using any other illusions when this occurs? What races are your friends? This has never happened for me, as a gnome.

I notice this on my halflings, they are about a foot taller than the other halfling PCs. No illusions, just while standing around. Other halflings are the same height as each other, but when zoomed out my halfling character is taller than the others.

This appears to be different from the illusion bug where people zone in after a person casts an illusion and see the illusion'd character as their normal model height but in the racial illusion form.

This was taken after logging in to EC tunnel at T1. Wood elf and Barbarian off to the side for further reference. Notice how Nebbo (my character) is almost a head taller and much bulkier than Notros.

I have been trying to track a different, though similar, bug with enchanters' racial illusion haberdashery.

http://www.project1999.org/forums/sh...ad.php?t=39465

I believe the ENC race illusion problem is caused by the game (either client or server) not storing information properly to display my illusioned race to other players. Since when you compared your height to a dwarf and you came up to eye level, you may be having the reverse problem and the game (client or server) is not storing graphic info properly to view yourself at halfling-height. I feel it may be telling your game client to set your base displayed height to that of the incorrect race. As referenced in my illusion thread, races are identified as a model attribute in EverQuest according to an assigned racial number.

I just ran around East Commons for a bit as a female halfling warrior, and the height display bug affected me too. As you have discovered, I was able to fix the issue by getting transformed into a wolf and then dropping the illusion. After you reset your natural height with Treeform, does it ever spontaneously return to the slightly-enlarged state before you zone? I ran around for about 10 minutes and did not experience a re-bigulation.

You're not alone. My Half-Elf bard is much larger than every other half-elf I've come across. It's just how it is, as I've never seen myself be the same size as other half-elves. Or atleast, I never noticed if they were the same size.

So I made some noob characters and did some digging:

Neither human males nor females are affected by the size-differential bug.

Neither barbarian males nor females are affected.

Neither woodelf males nor females are affected.

Both halfling males and halfling females are affected.

Both halfelf males and females are affected. However, I did notice that I seemed larger than most male 1/2-elves, though shorter than one 1/2-elf.

Perhaps we should call them 5/8-elves now? Disseller can be a 3/4-elf. In all of this, I have noticed that my halfelf and halfling noobs are, in my view, the same size as halfelf and halfling vendors.

I do not know what other races are affected, though at present I still think the graphic draw bug is rooted in the way that the game stores information to display racial height.

Did some more noobing around: Dwarves are not affected, Highelves are not affected, Iksars are not affected, and trolls are not affected. Maybe it's just that half elves and halflings are fed up with being called "half." I think we should try to be more sensitive to their feelings of inequity.

Another interesting variation (sorry if this was posted already) - my halfling druid using Guise of the Deceiver. Then I cast treeform - rather than becoming a tree, it removes DE form and makes me a big halfling.
