Weaponry all around (not just rangers) gets so much better with Kunark.
I had forgotten about most of these. I'm going to have to wipe this drool spot off my desk now.

Swarmcaller from KC really increased what I could solo as a ranger. The slow helps tremendously.

Yeah, swarmcaller was a game changer for a ranger.

Don't forget the fayguard parrying dagger for those times you don't have to worry about its ae proc. 9/17 with AC on it to boot! That and lupine had the best ratios for rangers in Kunark (at least for relatively obtainable weaps), but the lower piercing cap for rangers offset the ratio a tad by lowering your attck. However, I think piercing maxes the same as everything else now for rangers so in Kunark here it should have the same cap as other weapons?

I have a feeling that will still be the case yes. All skill increases seem to be based on EQ Titanium era so I don't foresee this changing with Kunark.

While ranger weapons get better in Kunark, so do all other classes, and some classes a lot more so (monks). The only thing that can really set a Ranger apart is Windstriker, which unfortunately is harder to obtain than your epic (unless PoSky drops are much more common on this server which is a possibility).

Right, Titanium is like the first 10 exps and I think the piercing cap was changed before that for rangers so skills should scale based on that cap here I'd think?

Wha? Windstriker is totally useless as a primary weapon until Velious (trueshot disc), and even then only marginally useful.

If you think Windstriker is "totally useless" I encourage you to play on a GM server and summon one. Play with it a bit and then you'll see how powerful it is. Hint: the proc is a long duration stun.

Also, I'm fairly positive that Trueshot was added between Kunark and Velious (during Kunark). Not going to look for specific evidence atm but here's the patch message from Velious's release:

*Velious Patch*

Today's patch requires that Velious subscribers press the "Velious
Patch" button on the patch program UI.

- Several disciplines (Resistant, Trueshot, Unholyaura, and Holyforge)
have been upgraded. Please read the updated EQManual_Supplement.doc (or
.txt) in your EverQuest Directory.

I said its useless as a primary weapon. A 100 damage stun doesn't do much in terms of dps, so no you'll never use it as a main weapon unless you're a serious pvper.

Maybe trueshot was just worthless prior to that upgrade or something. I don't remember the details, just that I didn't bother maxing my archery skill for trueshot until Velious.
