I think people would be less skeptical if you made less money on it. Why not 22 at 5K?

Understood, I'd be down to do 22 people at 5k. If that makes people feel better but at that point what does it matter how much I make off hosting the contest... that's what I don't understand. I'm offering a 1/25 chance to win a Fungi for 5k so why does it matter what I make off it.. no one is overpaying when they win it.. I understand I guess.. but no matter the profit size that shouldn't deter people from wanting a chance to win it. If people are more likely to play if I drop it to 22 people, Ill do that. I take time out of my day to do free giveaways in tunnel, coming up with new casino games for people who like to gamble, coming up with ideas for contests and soon hopefully setting up contests like this, you don't think I should be compensated for trying to do something different and fun. I appreciate when people take the time to do something unique and it seems like it's hard to appreciate someone trying to offer chances on an item that no one else is offering. That's how I view it.

Like I said if you guys want 22 people instead of 25 I'll do that. I just want to get more excitement in EQ period [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.].

It's because you say things like "I have no need for plat" and then "why shouldn't I be compensated?" You contradict yourself.

If you want to do this to do something different and fun for people, then do it at cost.

If you like to do giveaways, do it with your casino profits.

If your casino isn't profitable, have an accident (burn it down) and collect the insurance

LOL I like the burn it down part.. you dont understand I'm not going to collect names ensure no one is cheating etc for cost of the item. It's not worth my time and headache with spam tells etc to do it at cost... if that was the case I'd just sell the item for cost.. Let me rephrase I have no need for plat or items other than to buy more items to giveaway and do contests with. AND EVEN if I did have items I want to buy to secretly twink a character, why does it matter. I would like to see contests like this more often (and not me hosting them) if I'd like to see it there has to be like-minded people who would also like seeing this done. I don't get what the big deal is "OMG he plans on making 125k off a contest OMG must be a scumbag" like come on.. lol

There are people in this thread who like the idea knowing full well of the profit margin, and there are others that dont.. So obviously some people are cool with the profit margin and other aren't. Why don't more people host random contests for items at cost? (because its not worth their time to set something up, they rather just sell it outright) you see, non one does it cuz it's not WORTH their time. I set up a contest to make it WORTH my time to do this for people. Look at this this way, the more money I have (However I get it) the more I'm spending which is being put back into the economy.

Wonder if I can convince someone to give me $1000 to go to the Superbowl?

Forgot to mention that this is exactly the reason why I think I should profit some off hosting any contest and anyone else that wants to host a contest should also profit (IMO), so I can save up, buy an AoN, and do a contest with an AoN. (obviously I'm thinking of other items too like Cloak of flames and Manastones etc) but yes point is make some money to be able to buy more expensive stuff to offer in other contests so that people have a chance of winning 100k+ items for a fraction of the cost. Yes this is exactly my point. (Do I want to save up and buy AoN for myself, no, I rather save up buy it and offer cool contests. Is it a bad thing to do?

Tho 80 players is a bit much lol, I wouldnt be opposed to it tho.

Like I said, anyone else can throw a contest be my guest. Do it for free for all I care, but doesn't seem like anyone is going to host any contests for Fungi's besides myself anytime soon. So is anyone interested I'd like to do this contest for Feb. 1st. If so please comment below so I can get a head count to see if there will even be enough people signed up by the 1st. If I can't get enough people signed up that's fine too, I tried and thank you for people who supported this idea. So lets see if I can get 22 people signed up at 5k a pop.(I should have also mentioned all payments are to be made on the day of the contest before the contest starts.)

actually there's that guy that has been spamming in EC about rolling a 777 for 300pp for his fungi. Statistically speaking that averages out to ~300k.

Ok I'm just gonna botch this idea for now I'll come back to this at a later date when I gain my street cred back in tunnel :-p So new post will be made when I sell some raffle tickets. Selling 100 raffle tickets 1.1k each. Buy as many as you want (no picking certain numbers) You are given the number when you buy your tickets. Ill post everyone's raffle tickets on the forums every time I make a sale. When I've sold the 100th ticket I will do the drawing. (It will be hard to get everyone online at the same time, so I figure I will screen shot the drawing with date and time stamp and post the Screen shot on the forums and announce the winner. I'm sure people will be online during the time of the drawing but if you win and you're not online, the item will be held onto until you are given your prize). No items will be given to a friend or an alt character. Must be given to the same character that bought/is registered on the forums.

I will make the thread once the first ticket is sold. Can only buy tickets in game.
