Loved part 2. The Destiny Knight. Spent a lot of time of that game. ZZGO

Also could not tell you how many countless hours I wasted in my 1985 college days playing...

I loved all three of them on my commodore 64. I actually still get the urge to play them now and again on my c64 emulator.

How about

Between the Pool Of Radiance series and The Bard's Tale series I was set for most of my childhood and early teens.

and there's a little-known and underrated SSI gem that's the precursor to the gold box series:

That's the one I recommend people play on a c64 emulator. The combat is surprisingly advanced for a 1985 game. I actually play that more than POR and The Bard's Tale.

Vanilla/BC WoW

tbh p99 was a better experience for me than classic EQ was.... and p99 is great and all but nowhere near my favorite game

non-MMO contender would have to be Dwarf Fortress

My list:

Diablo. (level 5 with the red bat scared the SHIT out of me)

Age of Empires franchise. (much LAN party fun)

Starcraft. (many lan party nights with IP games)

Everquest. (first month it's all I dreamed about... too many other reasons to list in short)

Lineage 2 - Beta. (Awesome game, stunning graphics, amazing classes. I say Beta because the asian bots made it obvious the game would not have been the success it could have been so never played live).

Dark Age of Camelot. Amazing PvP on versus servers, epic raid scene on coop server. Nothing like 250 man raids where almost everyone walks away with loot, and guilds actually like working together.

Everquest 2 (pre Sony Store crap). It wasn't quite Everquest and wouldn't top it in my list, but it had at least 4 years of staying power for me. The introduction of RM items at the same time as the account security breach alerted me it was time to say goodbye to Norrath 2.0

Oh and...

Fruit Ninja! (sober or drunk there is nothing better than playing and watching people play this game, especially on Xbox)

Everquest Online Adventures. It was amazing, although the content was limited to one expansion (Odus, PoS, PoD, PoW). SoE finally took it down in 2012. I've never seen a community of players as dedicated to the game they played before or after EQOA. When the game's population started to dwindle, everyone banded together into one server on their own initiative to keep the game going.

It was beautiful.

hi im just here on a mission. my mission is to get EQOA back because its a major part of my life. lately without it life has been such a drag like its barely inching forward ,like i cant even function with out it. that is how my whole liife has been without EQOA for this past year. I'm depressed never want to do anything, flunked outta college, and feel like theres nothing special in my life anymore. when sony shut down the game i couldnt believe it was over with how hard we all tried to keep it up with our forum posts ,our emails, our youtube videos just all of it failed. yeah we got 3months of gold to EQ 1+2 but to us these games dont even compare they bored me horribly nothing will ever be like EQOA in the past year ive tried several MMORPGs and none of them can keep my interest like EQOA. i know its not just me who feels like this when sony gave us such a great game and ripped it away. it was my home and it got torn down. sony says they care about our opinions and will do anything for their customers then why didnt they keep EQOA up. it makes us feel like sony doesnt care and they have lost our respect because it was our home even in our home it was a second home. PLEASE sony try to open your hearts and bring EQOA back all the servers too because we had several homes Castle light wolf, Direns Hold, Hodstock, Ferrans Hope, Hagley, Marrs fist, i forget the last one but please find it in your hearts to bring back a great game and fantastic part of EQ history its part of a major timeline and needs to be kept. sony if you recognize this thankyou it means alot

Nope, but that is the general sentiment of all die-hard EQOA veterans.
