20-50 on a necro or enchanter, you can fear kite and hit for 120 with the item.

Add in a Tolapmuj Robe (36% haste) for another 2-3k... It makes for some fast efficient leveling that is more or less mana free.

It's a decent dot in general even at 50+, but skill caps make it pretty meh at that point. Mostly it is a very unique and fun item that let's casters do decent melee dmg imo.

I would say 60% fun toy / 15% BoTB trump card / 25% semi-useful DPS on MR immune mobs that don't AOE.

Back in the day when the spore king was pulled to the tube room, I would duo with Svenn and because I was too lazy to get a pet out with calm I'd just cast Asphyxiate and melee with this in werewolf form. It's good for about 15-20 dps against the reavers.

Not anymore. Damage is capped so you only hit for like 60 or 70 until like level 40.

this is me using in my mid 20's before a ninja caster melee damage nerf - this was around 05/2011, i was playing an iksar necromancer....142 unbuffed STR. No buffs were used:
