Ok, let's not make gross generalizations on ethnic or religious groups. Case in point, I'm Jewish and 100% against zionism, the state of Israel, and everything they do to the Palestinian people.
Quick lesson time: there are actually four branches of Jeudaism. The crazy people in the NPR story, Hassids, are the most conservative, followed by the orthodox, conservatives, and finally reformed Jews (you'd think the conservatives would be the most conservative, but they're actually more liberal *boggle*). The more conservative branch the Jew you're talking to is from, the more likely their answers will be bat shit insane unquestioning support for Israel (or just bat shit insane, period).
So if you want a sane, rational conversation, talk to a reformed Jew. Or you might get lucky and find sane conservative or even orthodox Jews; it can happen. Hassids are like the Amish though, they're a lost cause.

This is spot on.
