YT/Leaderboard Proposal

Heh I remember on SZ in Luclin era, if you zoned you would always show up on the other side with at minimum the HP totaling the amount of +HP on your gear. So if you were in a full suite of +100 hp gear and zoned at 1% you'd pop up on the other side at like 20-30%. Made people zoneline hug even harder than normal.

I get that but you don't seem to get that the people who care enough to twink a level 9 ranger for crushbone yt will just move their operation to the next available xp spot that gives yt. Only you'll have the crushbone, unrest and mm twinks sitting in said zone and you'll have newly leveled 46's with close to no pvp xp getting farmed for yt. Honestly doesn't affect me either way but I don't think you're considering everything.

Someone can get level 10+ in one session on this server. If they get harassed by a twink they are more likely to quit if it is there first log in rather than if they are already level 46+. By that time they understand PvP and also realize they can just push through those levels and be out of range soon anyways.

PvP has always existed on this server, even when there was no YT and exp penalty on death. You are assuming how things would be while the OP played during classic and knows PvP still happens with no YT. Do you think Gloinz, Chewie or Salem didn't PvP because there was no YT? They specialized in fucking with people in lower level zones just like the current twinks do today.

RZ twinks risked losing their gear so it was less of a problem. also noone was MQing epics and shit back then so a twink back in the old days was hardly the twinks you see on red. if you saw a low level rogue with epic, he was deleveled and it wasnt common.

SZ had no level range so twinks (didnt see many) could just get rolled by a higher level.

here we have 2 years of kunark with the biggest beards on the internet. therefore twinks have all the advantages with zero risk. if we can discourage griefers by removing YT at low levels, I think it would only be a positive thing for the server. maybe they will log back on their mains and contest.

When I plug it's because I'm trying to avoid a gruelling cr not because in are about my ratio. Don't play enough to want to spend my time running everywhere

Ok, so then what would be the point of removing yt to 46+? Before yt, people just took screenshots. I doubt that they sat twinks at level 10 just to grief noobs.
Yt is a motivator and all that moving it to 46+ will do is concentrate more twinks in a level range.

I still think a one time activation of a yt switch is the best idea. Don't want to participate in getting or receiving yt? Don't activate the switch.

The point of the OP was that he thought YT promoted griefing at low levels. If someone gets a kill, takes someone's plat and forces them to call LnS there is no motivation to keep killing the person unless it is for the purpose of racking up kills for YT/leaderboards.

Obviously people can still grief for no reason but it lowers the amount of people that do it.

That is the idea behind the theory.

If someone is getting killed by twinks at level 46+ they can just join Holocaust to get their Epic/trak bp in a week and stick it to them. Holocaust will take care of the level 46+ problem themselves.

Ahhhhh, there's the reason. Spawn more zerglings with virgin yt scores. Anybody joining the server for the first time should just expect that it's going to be rough on your first character. Everybody else had to do it.

YT only matters as much as you let it...
