|
The infighting between Iksar clans was legendary for it's brutality and scope. I did not have all the details, only what I had learned from ancient texts and oral recounts. At times the entire continent was stained in the blood of war. These fallen monuments lay like bones whispering a violent past.

The smell was awful. A sulfurous haze filled the air of the old mineshaft that had been left to the Goblins. I couldn't decide which was worse, the scent of scarred deep earth or the exposed innards of the creatures we left split open.

I couldn't believe I had made the climb. The surface of the ancient carving was covered in ice. I stepped carefully onto the outstretched arm, my paws padding softly on the Fresh snow. The view was incredible. I kept an eye out for my foe...

He must have known I was there. If you can see a Dragon with your eyes it has been long since the Wurm was aware of your presence. The fumes of super-heated rock made the air sharp to the taste and difficult to breathe. Raw lava, blood of Norrath, flowed in lakes about Him. What of even the greatest warriors could stand to face the Wurm in his own lair, surrounded by the scorching flames symbolic of His Brood?
