Yes the higher your skill then the trivial the less chance you have to fail something. Think its 100 points higher then triv to have 95% chance of success. 100 points higher is not how it works at all.

For things w/ lower than trivial of 68:
Chance of success = MIN(Skill - Trivial + 66, 95)

Plug in 70 and 41 in there and you get 95

Chance of success = MIN(SKILL - (.75*trivial) + 51.5, 95) -- this is for things w/ trivial higher than 68.

Plug in 230 and 248 in there and you get 95

Math FTW. Note you are way above trivial for the blanket and knife but actually below trivial for the ale.
