Need help please

I just bought a brand new laptop and specs are as follows intel 1.5 proc, with an intel HD graphic card and 4 GB of ram ,my problem is this i have tried multiple resolutions to get the game running nice and it does not work and solutions on getting the right resolution to work fullscreen i can go to a maximum of 1366x768 dunno what to do every time i change resolution it looks like game is crunshed on graphic side cannot get right resolution any help would be appreciated a bit of a computer n00b thanx
