Hello everyone,

When I try to load my character select screen I get the following error:
"The instruction at 0x02ae45b4 referenced memory at 0x036ef0e4. The memory could not be read"

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but got nothing. Also tried messing with the resolution settings I saw in a previous post. Anyone get this or know how to fix it?
I had the reference memory error for a while which forced me to run wineq2 and while running that I noticed the game while playable was choppy. I don't know if you have dual cores or not but here is how I fixed it using windows 10 running a dual core processor in 4 easy steps . First I started the program went through the Eula and stopped at the login screen, before putting in my password etc. Second I alt/tabbed out and hit ctrl/alt/delete. Third I opened my task manager and moved to the tab labeled details. Scrolling down until I located the Eqgame.exe. Fourth I right clicked on it and set the affinity for core 0 while removing all other core affinity to that game, I can now play using the original client. I have no run issues it loads faster and so far the only problem I have had is sometimes it will crash when I log out. This has been a permanent fix for me it's not something I have had to change as the affinity is binding and if you need to you can always go back and change it later.

I hope this helps you out
