You need a .jpg png gif or mp4 extension. If your link doesn’t have it... like go back and right click on imagine and copy link... sometimes I just try adding an extension and preview it to check it. or click their share links and they have ones that’ll go to your clip board.

it started as jpg. does imgur convert them to something not compatible?

If you post it without an extension, it’s a url link to an album, not an image. I followed link.. copied link address and put it in img brackets. It’s kind of a pain in the ass to explain without a gif.
