Excessive volume issues

The intro music, bag sounds, ambient "wooshing", coinage, quest completion horn, etc, all seem to have volume that is excessively loud compared to everything else in game. I read somewhere where someone was talking about removing the sounds; that's not what I want to do. How do I simply lower the volume of those sounds? Just the intro music alone keeps scaring my cat its so freaking loud. There's literally nothing else on my computer that's even close to being that loud and I got physical volume nob set perfectly on my speakers so I don't want to fiddle with that either. On the mixer in windows EverQuest is set to 5% and it still that loud.
