The quality of pvp really does drop each expansion. Classic is strong because the zones are densely populated and gear does not have the significant impact it does in the current stage of the game.

50 people running around at peak hours in velious with the top players having vulak vyemm eashan gear is not appealing to prospective players.

I remember 1 grouping hate zone ins with a bunch of 50s to get trash drops and just having a few groups of Vulak 60s drop in on us!

Kinda fun in its own way, but not how I want to spend every evening!

once luclin came out and spell effects casters got a big boost, which they lost once ldon came out and people would kill eachother for +1 augments that made stuff no drop

Red99 thriving.
60 pop.
Definately not dead.
Camps open when you want them.
Raid mobs up 24/7.

If you like single player games then red99 is the servior for you.

I'm looking to play after like 17 years of not having played EQ and for obvious reasons would pick red. My only question is with the pop so low is it hard to get a bind somewhere or am I more or less stuck playing some kind of caster?

I haven't played in a while, but I think you would probably be able to get bound. You could ask in OOC and it's likely enough someone online will have a character that can bind you. I hope you won't let Bind Affinity keep you from playing the class you want to play.

There isn't a worse PvP Everquest server to start on right now in existence.

@Videri-- Fair enough, I'll sort it out as best as can and if I have to do a long corpse run, well sometimes you eat the bar and sometimes the bar eats you.
