This type of interaction was a big part of EQ during classic. Heck, originally you had to petition to get a last name!

I've read that there has been talk on the possibility of Guild Wars and that fits under the 'Greater Events' category. I've also read that on blue Mayong made an appearance and that would suggest RP events are also a possibility.

I do agree with your general point, though, that it would be great to experience a more 'alive' world with active GMs and RP type events etc..

The questions I ask myself are (1) to what extent are the tools up to the job? (2) Do they even exist in Project 1999 like back then? (3) What would be the resource and time burden on the GM team? (3.1) Is the GM team large enough and experienced enough to handle such tools and events?

No one is getting paid and I imagine the folk behind Project 1999 reach into their own pockets far too often as it is.

This is how i remember EQ as well. It was so alive!
