Default Cleric Sol Ro Quest and Bilge Farfathom

Upon Sol Ro Release, Bilge Farfathom should drop https://wiki.project1999.com/Ingot_of_the_Constant , not Dwigus Lowater. Dwigus Lowater was not added until after the clerics had protested their poorly designed armor of sol ro quests.

Referencing: http://www.hyperhighway.com/bilgehun...hive.htm#rules

The History of Bilge:
According the Gavel in the Temple:

"Althuryn the Constant was brutally slain by two aqua goblins. The one called Sludge fled to Runnyeye, the one called Bilge lives in Dagnors Cauldron. Bring me the Ingot of the Constant, the Icon of the Constant, and 2 Galvanized Platinum Bars and I will forge them into a reward for you."

"I logged in at about 5:15pm. I had made the Cleric last night before going to bed so I was all ready. I was shocked to see a few clerics sitting on the wall already in West Freeport. By 5:39 there were 43 Clerics in the zone. Things were kind of crazy. People shouting, players flaming clerics, basically it was really really Chaotic. I'm not talking Dark Elf Chaotic here, I'm talking pulling the Imp Protector to the Zone in Sol B Chaotic (/shout out to my pal Ravhin there). I was really amazed at Fennin Ro, I figured that the "role playing" server would have a few nice people on it, boy was I wrong (more on that later). Anyway as time goes on more and more clerics enter the zone. By 6:18 there are 103 clerics in West Freeport. Lag at this point is getting bad, people are getting angry, and little is being said by the guys who put this all together. As you can see the zone is thick with Clerics at this point. At 6:21 I get my high count of Clerics in NFP, 114. About this time we are asked to move into the other zones to reduce lag (?!?!?). I moved over to East FP, and sat with the clerics there. Dalofkarana one of the organizers of the event told us Brad of Verant had contacted them this week, would look into the issue etc etc...Dalofkarana also told me he would try to get me a copy of this letter to post here. If anything happened past 7:30 I missed it, as I came here to update the page."

It is very fascinating to think that in 1999 over 114 clerics on a single server had gathered to protest against how poorly designed their sol ro armor quests were!

First, this is not a web-bbs. Dont change the subject or you fuck up
the thread.
Second, The armor is pretty damn spiffy if you ask me, I'm going to
get a full set for my cleric, I dont care about the stats, the LOOK is
cool.... Nothin like a high elf in light gold armor =)

Clerics have to camp the same bear for our shield, but at least the
rest of your armour (bar the grizzleknot breastplate) isn't too hard
to get, 90% of our quests are either spectacularly tedious (kithicor
stump watch '99
) or spectacularly rare mob (someone APPARENTLY saw
Zahal the Vile ONCE
) or camped to hell by other classes (Bilge in
Dagnor's Cauldron not only drops the cleric armour icon - for a
spectacularly worthless breastplate -
but also drops a +5 wis belt AND
a +18 wis totem, good god, what were the thinking ? oh wait they
weren't that's right)

This is the worst kind of camping - waiting around for hours on end
for something to show up.

If you want the bracers you have to wait around for Zahal the Vile to
turn up as sooner or later he gets killed by the fangbreakers (great,
an 8 hour spawn with a life expectancy of 10 minutes), I can only
assume similar problems exist with other cleric quest mobs - Bilge in
particular, who is constantly being killed by the shamans and druids

for his +wis gear (note, the actual cleric item obtained from the
bilge quest, is a +8 sta chestplate - really useful).

First mention of Dwigus Lowater I see is here in Feb 2000:

Can anyone tell me where Dwigus Lowater spawns at in Dagnor's Caluldron and
what is the spawn time on him? He now drops an ingot for a the cleric's
quest

https://groups.google.com/d/msg/alt....0/0mEzROMtlZEJ
It looks like he was very likely added in this Feb patch:

Quote:
Class-Specific armor quests, especially those belonging to Clerics, Paladins, and Shadowknights, have been reduced in terms of how long it will take the average person to acquire the armor. These classes, and others that found particular pieces of their armor exceedingly difficult to obtain should find it much easier now.
