600 ppl is PLENTY for a classic server, almost too much as you’re still having issues with finding groups or running into camped hot spots. Now double that and you got a clusterfuck all over again. Should have waited till Kunark at the soonest. Oh well...

What remains to be seen is how the server recycling changes things, but I'm wagering a long term death. The nostalgia hit has been satisfied for most of the people who care about it, there isn't a LOT of new blood coming in, and the autist /list campers are progressing one funeral at a time.

I started just as the merge happened. I'd rather they stayed apart but if the goal of P1999 is to emulate the real experience of 1999-2000 EQ then having too many people is part of it. I used to play Tunare Server and 2000 people online was fairly normal. Back then if you even got into any Lguk group at all it was a great day. we'll see how this goes.

To be fair, it isn't just high-ZEM zones that are affected. It is every zone that has something that offers something to kill.
It is very similar to the seafury nerf on blue that caused all of the previously-contained-in-one-area weirdos to do their weirdo things elsewhere. | ||
