New PC build
So, I have this new laptop that is able to run P99 and EQlive but ,..
I have this Covid unemployment cash burning a hole in my pocket and thinking about investing again in a *NEW* rig even if my significant other disagrees, problem I have is; I want a new desktop over a laptop; HELP! A) Minimum specs for EQ/P99 B) Some goods links to cheap gear able to run EQ (Exclusively EQ live/P99) C) Advice on free anti-virus so I can eliminate McAfee (I use to use AVG back in the day, Circa 2008) D) Maybe some tips on how to minimize/eliminate bloatware from Windows 10 to increase performance/eliminate interrupts. Thanks in advance for any advice

Recently put together a theme build, reused many parts from my 2014 build. Went back to a 4:3 monitor and haven't missed 1440P.
A. EQ is old, a build spec from 2005 would probably be overkill. Edit: You mention EQ Live, I have no idea as I wouldn't touch that monstrosity with a 20ft pole. B. Can find builds on [H]ardforum and order from Amazon, although the shipping is slow. Newegg ain't what she used to be. C. Windows Defender. D. Good question, it will download things at will. Some hacker here can probably walk you through it. I have just accepted this is part of the tablet/console era of operating systems where they make sure things are taken care of and provided. Perhaps to avoid another Vista-like constant problem with the user base being retarded like me.

Avoid the Navi 10 GPU they dont render EQ well. AMD 5700 XT bad card for EQ (not a bad bad card) just bad for backwards compatability. I've had some crashes in all kinds of software with it but it's mostly patched up.
you may even want drivers and stuff all certified under windows 7 and avoid windows 10, dual boot into 10 for normie stuff only when neccissary as I built a 2018 specced pc and it runs fast, but it still lags in PoK with 50 people standing around anyway, and the drivers have major issues out-the-box without hax that said it can play wow at ultra max HD 4k 4062p settings.

one of these cards should fit the bill, find a matching mobo cheap ass cpu, eq doesn't use CPU, and 4-8gb of memory depending on if you want to concurrently run other apps or multiple instances and luclin models
https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?N=100007...sc=directx%209\ you could probably find one of these cheeper off of site other than newegg, the 6800 and 7900 are nice cards that can still run modern games sorta, as long as they will run under directx9 $175 seems overpriced for an EQ1-II TLP machine video card. do a PCIe mobo cuz an agp mobo will cost u more in this day and age and need oddball cpus probably obselecence is creeping up on pc gamers [You must be logged in to view images. I just became a VR accessibility dev so I need a good video card too. Why is my 1060 from 2016 still selling for $400?
