Capital punishment certainly has its place here. When society is incapable of flushing out the dregs naturally over time, someone's gotta flip the switch. Cruel world, cruel people, cruel punishment.

It is just completely unfathomable how anyone can do something like this. This is really disturbing. Rarely can news upset me, but this is truly horrific.

But really guys, the actors in this story are all victims. They are all suffering from the same disease. Meth addiction is insidious; it's the only only drug shown to drive a mother to rape her own child. That's usually the type of behavior reserved for alcoholic fathers, who we all agree are just sick, not evil.

I think these folks can and should be detoxed and rehabilitated. Then we can send them around to high schools to emcee at motivational anti-drug assemblies:

"I always used to say, 'Not me, I've got it under control.' Then one day you rape the head clean off a kid and you know: I need help."
