Not sure which is funnier. Having an end game rogue on a time locked server (+10% over EC tunnel rogue with epic), or that a transphobe Frenchie is still talking shit to me years later because he has an end game rogue on a time locked server.

Having best in slot gear makes sense when it means you can fight other players more effectively.
Having best in slot gear makes little sense when the PVE content is already fully steam rollable and it's only for magelo pride (can't do anything with it) But I don't complain about it. The meme seems stupid though.

I never understood why the competition for gear matters so much in a purely PvE game. You spend time earning pixels that let you kill NPCs slightly faster. If this game had any sort of PvP, even Battlegrounds, I could see why monopolizing endgame gear would be important. But the MMORPGs that successfully combine PvE and PvP, like Elder Scrolls Online, also feature instancing where no guild or team can monopolize content. So why is it so important on P99? Bragging rights? Can you even brag about gear on a private emulated server of a 23 year old game where you can't even use it vs another player?

In retail WoW from what I’ve heard of the raid scene you not only need top tier gear for the highest level mythic raids, but if you are trying to be one of the first to do those, you need to employ something called “gear funneling”. This is where you take one of your main raiders, put them in a slightly lower tier raid with a bunch of your backup raiders of the same gear type (cloth, plate, etc), then those backup raiders funnel all their drops to that main raider. This means the most competitive guilds have entire squads of players whose entire job is to gear the actual main raiders. Sort of like how pro sports teams have staff who’s entire job is just to practice with them but not play any actual games

I think I'd like to play a zelda the 2nd quest type thing where all the loot is redistributed for another server reset. It'd create at least a period of confusion and curiosity for the first few months of each expansion at least.
