If you haven't already tried it, you can go into advanced power options and set the minimum processor state to 100% when plugged in. That might do it.

the "high performance" option was hidden by default, so I was running "balanced" which had a shittastic minimum of 5% [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] noticed a difference right away
