Did the turn in today (yes, correctly 1st the sealed note alone,got the opened one in return), then the 4 items needed. Knights of Truth and Priests of Marr ally faction ! He ate all items. Got the message "You have not proven yourself" 4 times. And no, i did not get the items back. Petitioned. Still waiting for a reply.
Definitely broken quest !

What is your Priests of Life faction? Thats the one you need

Any update on this? I am planning to do the turn in soon. I have warmly with Priests of Life

Quest works fine as long as you have the proper faction. I'd get Ally to Priests of Life to be safe. The wiki says you need high warmly and no idea how you'd judge that

Can turn in 2 gold to Lashun (Qeynos area) to raise Priest of Life easily

I leveled up a mage to 4 and killed Koalindls in Qeynos. Logged over to Pala to loot them and did turn in. After 8 Turn ins i was Ally. Went to Splitpaw, turn in worked. So i got my Soulfire.
