For PvP, any two pure melee. Especially in Kunark, they're probably about equal in their ability to instantly rape people with disciplines. I'd go with rogues since their epic is so easy and they absolutely rape with selos. Rogue+warrior if they don't both want to play the same class, warrior epic isn't enormously crucial for PvP anyway the way rogue epic is. That's not for another couple of years, though, but it'll still work fine pre-Kunark. There's not much reason to go with monk for a trio, FD is a big part of what makes monks good in PvP and there's not much point in feigning mobs off if you're always surrounded by two teammates.

For PvE, bard/melee/melee is a weird and relatively ineffective trio. You'll mostly be restricted to fear-kiting stuff outdoors, and kiting with a trio isn't that great. Before Kunark, there isn't a great deal of outdoor XP content past the first 20 levels. You won't be able to camp much gear and you'll spend half the time just looking for mobs to kill for XP. Regardless, just go with whatever classes people want to play in PvP.
