Bleh, why do the blue players dislike the rest of us so much? I'm not trying to do anything malicious here, OP was a member of my guild who seems to have left us for bluer pastures :P

But thank you, Mr. Well-Read, for your enlightening oversimplifications and sweeping generalizations. I had no idea I was a sadist until now!
I tried out the red server, I left.

It wasn't from being ganked either, I killed some people and died to some people, but it wasn't really a big deal. What it amounted to was me listening to people talking there and realizing "I don't want to play with these people."

What baffles me is I'm assuming, as with blue, these are mostly older people.

I've learned in the past not to really judge an mmo (or a server) based on what I read in a server chat. There were periods on this blue server chat where the community looked absolutely abysmal. It was little more than RnF posts that hadn't been moved yet. Yet when in the game, for the most part people acted reasonably.

I lurked on the red chat for a while and considered the same thing. "These obnoxious people coming up with different ways to call each other a fag are the minority, in game is probably different."

When I started there, it wasn't different though. Listening to people talk felt exactly like reading the namecalling in the red server chat.

You might say "Not everyone on the pvp server is like that!" and I'm sure they aren't. However too many were for my tastes, FAR too many. Even worse, that behavior is somehow considered masculine or tough. In reality it just comes off as childish, like walking past a group of middle school kids arguing.

I think you'll find other blue players share the same sentiments. It has very little to do with the act of pvp on a pvp server, ganking or otherwise. It has very much to do with the people you're around.

I've noticed you promoting the red server often and you seemed to be a reasonable, ordinary person that just wants to play on a pvp server, which is great. If a big majority of people there were the same way, I would have stayed. But they aren't, and I didn't.

Oh, it certainly does suck sometimes. Not in any offensive way, but in a way that makes you imagine EQ is played primarily by drunken frat boys :P

The playerbase on red is pretty terrible -- it's hard to argue that it's not.

You said somewhere else, and I quote the gist of it here "Why the hatred for Red, after all we are playing the same game?". I'll answer that - we are NOT playing the same game - you are playing Quake with worse graphics. I am playing EQ, which was never really meant to be a PVP game. You are playing with the kind of people that like go to cheesy action movies and then talk out loud in the theater. I am playing with people that like to read books.
This was good for a laugh.

Go ahead, take a trip to the lovely PvP Server Chat and tell me if they have a basic sentence structure let alone capitalization or punctuation
Not really necessary to write with correct punctuation on an online video game, its not like its a Resume or a essay for school, relax [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Blue servers dead. Red is the new future. Confirmed everyone's mad about it.

Also level 4 newbie zone OOC = judge the entire server bases average player intelligence. Fact of the matter is, most red box players are infinitely better at this game than the blue ones. Mostly because they need to fight off hordes of other bind rushing players in small cramped areas like solb or permafrost before they even engage a raid target.

If you people seriously can't break into a pvp server because of trolls you should cancel your ISP's service. It's not hard to ignore these people.
