I played Day Z about ~1.5 months ago and I remember lag and general buggyness being huge issues. Not to mention the constant issues entering games for inexplicable reasons, only fixed by 'updating the files' repeatedly through Steam.

Hopefully the standalone is just the mod DayZ without the buggy Arma 2 client.

dunno dayz is probably better now; heard they added hatchets and you don't start with a gun anymore

haven't really looked into it in 5-6 months

definitely something you'll want friends to play with, though

As far as I know they aren't even working on it nearly as much if at all since the standalone is coming out.
