My normal go to whisky when I drink at home. Smokey and sweet at the same time, the subtle hint of peat and honey really comes through. Usually will cut a 3-4 oz glass with about an ounce of water to bring out the taste. For the price it really can't be beat - liquor store in town has it at $43 a bottle. In my opinion it easily stacks up to and exceeds the shit Johnny Walker peddles as Blue for $150+ a bottle.

If you're looking for a cheaper alternative make sure you try The Famous Grouse. At $22 a bottle the price is beyond compare; although its a blend it is a nice, smooth blend featuring Macallan and Highland Park among others.

coffee w/ whisky in it > coffee without whisky in it.

And when drinking straight up booze, knob creek or bust with the occasional bump to woodford reserve.

The only thing better than coffee with whiskey in it is coffee with Jameson in it while you're in Dublin after the bars close and some nice irish folks invite you into their speakeasy where there are half a dozen or more people playing music and everyone is drinking coffee with jameson. Best as a whiskey and coke..? I drank Jameson like it was nothing on Thanksgiving. I don't even think I can drink regular Coke that fast.
