I stand firmly behind my eq playing days. They taught me a lot about leading, organizing, strategy, politics and people. I have used what I learned from those days to give me a great family and successful career in software development.

I played from 3pm to 3am almost every day when I was in my junior and senior years of college and still graduated without issue.

Because you're still deluded enough to think that spending that much time playing a elf and dragon game during your college years is "worth it".

Many of the people who play as much as they do don't try to kid themselves about how much of a waste of time it really is. You on the other hand are still trying to be Mr. poster boy for the neckbeards of the world, trying to say that the gains from poopsocking this game outweigh the negative effects.

I cannot comment on how this effected other people. I am sure it can in different ways. I can only comment on myself.

Playing mmorpgs to me just allowed me to feed my need to know more about development and programming and helped drive me in my career.

If I went back in time I would do it again.
