One mistake I noticed is that the banish summoned icon is the same as storm strength... that doesn't seem right.

Also when I try to make anything other than hotkey bar #1 appear it doesn't do anything.

The icons attached to spells is down to the spells_us.txt file and should be reported in the bugs section. For hotbars 2 - 4 you need to set macro keys in the options window, or use the EQ button to open them.

So it seems a lot of people don't like the bigger rectangle icons, so I'm going to make a version with smaller square icons that should also work with the filigree and default_old ui's. More to report back later today...

Alright, let's suppose I want to be able to just have the lastest spellfile but not change anything else.

This means, leave the icons looking the way they did, leaving the UI the way it was (1 row of 8 instead of 2 rows of 4) etc,

Is this possible to do? Or are we basically forced to change our spell icons and user interface? Personally I'm just not digging the was the changes look and I'm a huge proponent of "if it's isn't broken, don't fix it".

The spell gems needed to change, period. They were only tied to 30 options and looked terrible. Now you have 150ish gem #s. The spells_us.txt will be mandatory to see the correct gem alignment. Like I said in its announcement, this allows for more customization, so you can find/make whatever you want.

Simply put.. theres an icon number in spells_us.txt. Says gem should look like #. # in your gem icons is what it will look like.

Alright, I will give this another shot but the spell gem art looked mad blurry and the colors were like straight out of a neon colored crayons the last time I tried this. It was very rough on the eyes.

Hopefully I can get the single row of 10 hotkeys working, the 2 rows of 4 don't work very well with the way I set up my windows. (I am going to try the above post).

Honestly, I was quite used to the limited spell gems after 8+ months.

Savok, those new icons look pretty simple and sharp. I will try them out when I get home tonight!

hmm... yeah. i'm not overly fond of the new spellgems either, and they've spawned a host of new compatibility issues for me. thus far, no old UI will work without problems/crashing.

That said; aside from the spell gems, I think it's pretty =\.

I can only get one hotbar (vertical) to open with the new/old style ui elements.

Any ideas on how to get a second open, or is that not even possible?
